What is Peace?
A quiet dawn
Birds gathering at the feeder
For an early morning snack.
Goldfinches, sparrows, nuthatches, and more
All sharing the same space, peacefully
Taking turns eating the same type of birdseed
And looking out for one another as they
Nourish themselves and their families.
During the Peace at our church
We gather together, like the birds in a quiet dawn
People from all walks of life
To share our love and acceptance of one another
As we nourish ourselves and our church family
With the body and blood of Jesus Christ.
