The Sunday of the Passion

Sunday, 3/24 @9:00am
Palm Procession & Holy Eucharist

Palm Sunday begins with palms and shouts of Hosanna, but carries us into remembering Jesus’ passion and sacrifice. Please gather before the service outside on the Parish lawn.

The Great Three Days

Our tradition calls the time stretching from Thursday of Holy Week until Easter the Great Three Days, or the Paschal Triduum. What we do during these days gives ritual shape to the mystery of creation’s deliverance through Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection. In this single great liturgy, we are standing at the very heart of our faith.

Thursday, 3/28 @5:30pm
Holy Eucharist of Maundy Thursday

On the night he was betrayed, Jesus ate with the disciples and promised to be with us always in the Holy Eucharist. The Gospel of John also describes how, during this last supper, Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and gave to them a new commandment: “Love one another. Just as I have loved you.” Remembering his commandment and what he did, we wash one another’s feet. And, remembering how Jesus went out into the night to face desolation in the garden and to be arrested, the last thing we do is strip the altar and the sanctuary bare.

The Liturgy of
Good Friday

This is the day of awe. We stand before the cross, before Jesus’ death, before the reality of God’s loving commitment to us, without looking away.

Saturday, 3/30 @7:00pm
A Service of Light
for Easter Eve

“This is the night.” That’s what we declare in the ancient hymn called the Exultet, sung into the night at Easter. This is the night: not only long ago, but now, when the light of Resurrection breaks into the world. After the darkness of Good Friday, come to St. George’s in the dark of Saturday evening when we will kindle a new flame, tell the long story of God’s saving acts around the fire, and proclaim that Christ is risen.

Easter Day

Sunday, 3/31 @8:00am
Holy Eucharist

A celebration of the Resurrection with Holy Eucharist and congregational singing.

@10:30am
Festival Holy Eucharist with Choir, Easter Egg Hunt & Flowering of the Cross

Join us after our 10:30am service to celebrate with a reception and Easter Egg hunt on the Parish lawn! And, you can help us mark this Easter Day with a flowering of the cross in front of St. George’s. In this tradition, a cross is covered with flowers, showing its transformation into a sign of hope, life, and God’s victory over death. Bring flowers with you on Sunday morning to add to the cross!
