End 68 Hours of Hunger
St. George’s acts as the host church and provides volunteer power for the York Chapter of End 68 hours of Hunger. This 100% volunteer organization confronts the 68 hours of hunger experienced by York children who can’t count on meals over the weekend by providing bags of food for them to take home over the weekend.
Table of Plenty
The Table of Plenty is a community kitchen that serves weekly meals in York, Berwick, and Kittery, Maine. St. George’s has been an actively involved church since Table of Plenty came to York in 2001. Every six weeks, our volunteers get to work cooking, serving and cleaning up the weekly meal that happens up the street at First Parish UCC.
