Faith formation is the lifelong process of growing in our relationship with God, self, others, and all creation.
At St. George’s we’re exploring a variety of way to grow in these important relationships. Our program year runs from September to May. We generally have monthly lay and clergy led programs on various topics. We’re always looking for and welcome new ideas.
This upcoming year, we’ll focus our discussion series on the topic of civil discourse, with the kick-off being an event sponsored by the Maine Council of Churches, featuring former Senator George Mitchell, entitled “From Mudslinging to Mutual Respect.” We’ll then be hoping to practice this method throughout the year as we engage in topics such post-election conversation, exploring gun violence, and white privilege.
Our other primary program for the year will be a monthly Faith Explorers’ Book Club that will meet the last Wednesday of every month from 10:30AM to noon. We’ve got a wonderful array of books selected and hope you can join us to discuss them.
