St. George’s is a welcoming, inclusive, vibrant community
We are an Episcopal Church, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, and trace our heritage to the beginnings of Christianity.
What we believe
We believe in God, the Creator of all that is.
We believe in Jesus, God incarnate, fully human and fully divine.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the breath of life, who inspires, guides and permeates our life of faith.
We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the revealed word of God, recorded by human beings under the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit and that they contain all things necessary for salvation.
We believe that all human beings are created in God’s image and likeness.
We endeavor to follow the teachings of Jesus, the Christ.
We strive to seek and serve Christ in all persons and to respect the dignity of every human being.
We welcome children as Jesus did, with open arms.
We long to be known for our service to others.
We believe that men and women of all ages, races and cultures, and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered persons, including those who are in lifelong committed relationships, are of equal worth and dignity and that they have full access to all of the sacraments, including marriage, and all orders of ministry.
We acknowledge that we aren’t perfect. We all make mistakes.
We believe in amendment of life and seek to forgive as we have been forgiven.
While honoring our differences, we celebrate our unity in Christ, always putting the work of love before uniformity of opinion.
We welcome all who feel called to be nourished at God’s table and to find a spiritual home at St. George’s Episcopal Church.
