St. George’s greatest desire
is to be known for our service to others.
We give and do whatever we can, donating our time, talent and treasure to those less fortunate than ourselves. Our services and special events are all geared toward making the world in which we live a more welcoming and nurturing environment, especially for those who are called to be nourished at God’s table and find a spiritual home within our church.
Ours is a welcoming, inclusive community where every person, of every age, is engaged in mission and ministry.
Within the Episcopal Diocese of Maine, St. George’s is recognized as one of the most active when it comes to outreach. Whether it’s helping those in need through our support of local non-profits, organizing a summer youth mission trip to assist at a reading camp for kids struggling with learning, supporting parishioners efforts to travel abroad to aid those who are homeless, or advocating for peace and justice in our corner of the world and beyond, we are constantly guided and inspired by the Holy Spirit, and our love of every human being.
