Mega Choir, a St. George’s tradition, returned on September 29-30.
On Sunday, the core choir was amplified by almost 50% with the addition of four tenors and two sopranos for the singing of Moses Hogan’s, Lord, Hear My Prayer. The extra singers agreed to join the choir for this one weekend, turning our core choir into a “Mega Choir.”
The group of veterans and ringers had gathered the night before at Holly Sargent and Robert Palmer’s home for food, fellowship and fun as Ivan led the group through the process of learning notes, improving vocal production, and interpreting the music. The singers then gathered to polish the performance on Sunday morning before the 10:30 service. “Ivan is such an incredible teacher, it was a great experience for all, ” tenor and Treasurer Fred Lynk reflected. “Now everyone can see how much fun we have every week, ” contributed long-time bass, George Wilson. Stay tuned for word of the next Mega Choir opportunity!
